Should Every Home Have at Least One Bathtub? 2560 1703 admin

Most of us don’t use baths anymore. It can feel like a luxury, and few of us even have the time to take a bath let alone the desire to do so.

So if you’re doing a bathroom remodel, it makes sense to wonder whether or not you need a bath at all. After all, large showers are “in” and many of us feel more comfortable showering. A walk in shower may feel like a better option.

But do you need to have a bathtub? Even in an era when not many people are taking baths?

Should You Have a Bath?

Yes. At least, right now, you should at least have one bath. That is because your home value is likely to suffer if you do not have at least a bath. Some people dream of a home with a bath, as they imagine that they can relax in one after a hard day. Parents of young kids also often *need* a bath in order to effectively bathe and clean their children.

If you do not think you will ever bathe, do not think you will ever sell your home, and do not think that you will ever have needs change, then you could consider having no bath. But, in general, having at least one bath somewhere in the home is considered highly recommended.

In addition, there are plenty of reasons you may want to have a bathtub in your home, including:

  • Versatility – A bathtub provides a versatile bathing option, catering to both children and adults. It’s particularly useful for families with young children who may prefer baths over showers. But even if you don’t intend to bath now, as you get older, you may find that you need a bath as an option to help ease aches and pains.
  • Relaxation – Bathtubs offer a space for relaxation and stress relief. Soaking in a tub can help alleviate muscle tension and provide a spa-like experience at home.
  • Increased Home Value – Homes with at least one bathtub can appeal to a broader range of buyers, potentially increasing the property’s market value. Many homebuyers view bathtubs as a desirable feature, especially in family-oriented homes.
  • Therapeutic Benefits – For individuals with certain medical conditions, soaking in a bathtub can offer therapeutic benefits, such as improved circulation and relief from joint pain.

Every property should have at least one bath. Even if you are a shower household, where most of you like to shower, it is almost always recommended that you have a bath. The exception, of course, is if you have the means to remodel a property before putting it to market, and you want larger showers in limited space right now as you enjoy your property.

But even if you decide not to get a bath right now, you should probably consider a bath in the future. If you’re investing a lot into your bathroom, then you should probably consider doing that now, so that you do not have to redo your bathroom again.

Still, it is a personal decision. If you need a bathroom renovation in Staten Island and would like to discuss these options, contact Christian Construction today.
